KL Fun Fact 😲❗️

In 2015, civil engineers uncovered a centuries‑old, 10‑metre tunnel running from Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve down toward the Klang River. It wasn’t a stormwater drain, but a strategic escape and supply tunnel used during the Selangor Civil War in the 1860s–1870s, created by the Mandailing community.

  • The tunnel likely formed part of a larger underground network, now long-buried under KL’s growth

  • Discoverers say it was used to stash weapons, food, and treasure, and allowed combatants to escape across the Klang River

KL City Hall (DBKL) confirmed its historic origin and how it survived hidden beneath the city for over 150 years!

Plans were made to convert it into a tourist attraction, though it remains off‑limits for now. And of course, we will confirm let you know if it ever opens. 😆
